Lots of stuff going on

Like in my previous post, I've been really busy since I started working, I still enjoy working at Sears, it's been very challenging thus far, but I'm starting to get the hang of most of the procedures. I still can't wait to transfer to the garage, that's when I'll truely love what I do for a living. I'm going to try and post once a day at least, but no promises.

Been busy

I've been really busy lately, working alot, still like my job, most days anyway, I went and looked at an apartment with a friend today, it was a really nice place, but we need at least two more people to move in with us to be able to make the rent, so that place may or may not work out, but that's ok, there is alot of apartments in the area we're looking in, so I'm not worried, nothing else exciting from today, more tomorrow.

Think About It

What is today, but yesterday's tomorrow?!?!

I decided quite a while back that I was going to stop putting off my dreams in life and start working toward them now. I realize I have bills and obligations in life, but you can't continue to put off your life's ambitions or you're never going to be happy. That is why I'm working at Sears Auto Center making just above minimum wage instead of Hollywood Video making about $35,000 a year, that's also why I'm moving this summer to Reading, so I can be closer to school and not have to drive 160 miles round trip everyday, is this going to be a smart choice on my part, I guess that depends on how you look at things, yes, I'm going to be paying rent, but at the same time I'm going to be using alot less gas, probably just over a tank a week less, now don't think I'm going to be living alone in some lavious apartment, I'll be rooming with 2 or 3 other guys in a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment or townhouse to keep rent down to around $200 - $250 a month, so if you do the math, I'll actually be coming out about even or possibly ahead. That's my rant for today, not sure why I decided to post this now, I guess I'm just tired of people asking me why I would take a job at Sears over being a store manager for Hollywood Video, well, now you know.

Already.........

So it appears next week I'll be getting full-time hours, even though technically I'll be part-time for the forseeable future, oh well, I love my job, been there a week and still get up every morning looking forward to going to work, although I am glad to have tomorrow off because I worked Monday - Saturday this week, I'll hopefully have more pictures and more frequent updateds starting next week.

Snow

Snow is beautiful, majestic, and at times, a huge pain in the butt, we're supposed to be getting between 5 - 10 inches today into tomorrow morning, normally this would be great news for me, but not this time, since I'm now back at work, trying to commute through that crap is horrible, oh well, nothing I can do besides drive slow and take it easy, work will be boring today and tomorrow, again, oh well, maybe I can get most of my computer training done.

Whew

Just worked my second day at Sears, had a good day. I'm finally doing work that will help me reach my career goals in life, and I couldn't be happier, so I'm only part time right now, eventually I'll be full time, and in the meantime I'm going to start working at Hess part time, which will be ok. I'm actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow, and I haven't been able to say that for a long time, well, I have some stuff to do tonight, more tomorrow.

First day

So, yesterday was my first day at Sears, I think it went pretty well. I'm going in this morning at 9am, not sure what time I get off today though.

My Day

Ok, my day started somewhat early, about 8am, I got up and got ready for church, now understand, normally I wouldn't need to be up until 9 or 9:30, but I was going to a new church today and it's a considerable difference in drive time, so I left about 9:10am to embark on my hour plus ride. Got to church at around 10:15am, the service was great, talked for a while afterword, and left about 12:20pm. My parents called and asked me if I wanted to meet for lunch and of course I said yes, well, just as I pulled into the parking lot, Sears called me and said I have orientation tomorrow at 12pm, so I was excited, as soon as my parents arrived we went into the diner, it was packed, so as soon as we arrived, we left for another restaurant, got home about 4pm, and have been working on getting the house ready for tomorrow ever since, we have an appraiser coming out at like 10am, oh what fun.

Nothing and Stress

Well, just as the title suggests, I did nothing today, except sleep and eat, as some of you know, I've been having employment issues for a long time now, and I think the stress is finally starting to effect my health, I'm not sleeping at night, I'm getting bad headaches, and now I'm having issues with my vision, I don't know if it's related or not, but it's still something else I now have to deal with. I realize it will get better in due time, but come on, enough is enough already. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. I'll hear if I have the job with Hess on Tuesday, although I already know "unofficially" that I do, so that should relieve some stress from my life when the paychecks start coming in.

Hmmm

Ok, so I've worked for Hess as an assistant manager 3 seperate times, it pays pretty good, but at the same time, the job sucks, so here's my question to anyone that reads this Blog.

Would you go back to work for a company that you know sucks, just because the pay is great?

Happy Valentines Day

Ok, I said it, but let's face it, I'm single once again this year, so I really don't care about Valentines Day at all, just another day in my opinion.

The weather

The weather has been crappy here the past couple days, right now there's about 6 inches of snow on the ground with ice on top of that, ugh, when is spring coming. No update on the job front other than I'm going to start actively looking agian since I haven't heard from Sears since Friday of last week, I'm very irritated at this point, I turned down a great paying job to go to Sears and they haven't even called to setup orientation yet, ok, I'm done today, I need to look on some job websites and see what I can find.

Yes, I'm still sick

I can't believe it, but I'm still freakin sick, but oh well, we're supposed to be getting this really bad winter storm tomorrow and Wednesday, so if we do, I'll have a new set of pictures to share with ya'll, other than that, nothing new in my life.

I'm so bored

It's Sunday afternoon, I was to sick this morning to go to church, so I'm just sitting here, bored out of my mind. I am on the phone with a buddy of mine, but other than that, it's been a pretty tedious day. Oh well, I better get going and get some stuff done.

Today I'm just gonna talk about a few websites I belong to,

First up is http://rangerpowersports.com/, I've been a member there for a year and a half, it's the largest Ranger enthusiasts website, as we are 50,000+ strong, it's a great resource if you own a ranger, explorer, bronco II or a mazda b-series.

Next up is http://talkpa.net/, this is a great site if you live in PA and want to meet, talk, and discuss just about anything with other people that live in this fine state, I've been a member there for a while and I find myself checking in at least a few times a day.

Just joined this site, http://talkdelaware.com/, same type of site as Talk PA, but for Delaware residents, and is owned and ran by the same guy.

Last up is http://fordaddicts.com/, I'm the owner of this site, and we're growing, albeit slowly, if you're a true Ford lover, then this site is for you.

I still feel like crap

Like the title says, I've been sick for 4 or 5 days now and I'm really not feeling much better, at least I'm not running a fever 24 hours a day now though, but I'm supposed to be going to Lansdale on Sunday for church and visiting a friend of mine, but that may not happen now, so far I've just been taking DayQuil and NyQuil, any suggestion as far as what else I could take to try and knock this cold/flu or whatever it is out?

Tomorrow will be a good day

I get to go to Sears at 12:30 so we can fill out all my paperwork and get my schedule for next week, then I'm going out on a Friday afternoon ride, just me, my truck, and the open road, for ya'll that don't know me, I love to just get in my truck and drive, doesn't have to be anywhere in particular, it's going to be a fun day.

Ok, time to lose some weight

Ok, for ya'll that know me, you know I need to lose some weight, and I've commited to losing at least 50 lbs by the end of 2008, but I'm shooting for 100 lbs, I'm cutting my daily calorie intake down to 1,500 and I'm planning on walking at least a mile three times a week, I'll keep you updated about once every two weeks with a blog post and let ya know how I'm doing.

Spring Fever

I can't wait till spring. It got up to 62* today and I've been sick all day, I just can't wait till it gets warmer out and I can start doing fun stuff outside.

This is where the madness happens, lol.

As of Friday it will be official

At 12:30 on Friday I'll be an employee at Sears, just gonna work PT at first, till they get busier and can make me FT, I don't care though, this is gonna be a great job.

Early morning ramblings

Ya know, I've been sitting here for a while just thinking about and life, and here's a question I have for anyone that reads this, "why is everyone in such a hurry in life?", I mean, we get one life to live, why not take it a little slower and actually try to enjoy it from time to time. I realize that at times we need to rush to get certain things done, but that doesn't mean we need to maintain a break-neck pace through our entire lives.

Just found out

Sears called me and left a message about a job they have for me, I tried to call back but the manager had left for the night, so in the morning he's gonna give me a call, I can't wait.

Today was fun

So I went to see a friend of mine today, had a good time, finally got to see his house, went to lunch, talked for a while, I just wish it wasn't so far. Here's the only pic I took today, thanks for the fun day Pete.


Just thought I would give ya'll an update real quick, the lady from Hollywood Video never called me back, but I am now 100% sure that I'm not taking the job.

Oh, and I know I said I would be uploading photos on Monday(yesterday), but I've been busy with other things, look for those pics within the next week or so.

Sears

I got a job at Sears, not 100% sure what area in the store I'll be working in though, but eventually I'll get to work in the Auto Center, so I'm happy.

Man, I can't believe what I'm gonna do

Well, I've been pondering whether to take the job at Hollywood Video for a while now, and I've come to a decision, I'm not gonna take it, it involves working every weekend, and that's when I have family events happening and of course church on Sunday, so in light of that, I can't take the job.

I'm freaking out

Yep, I'm freaking out, the thought of having to be soley responsible for a million dollar a year store is scaring the crap out of me, plus I'm now also going to be responsible for all my employees actions, oh well, guess I should get over it, huh, lol.

Ok, what just happened surprised me alot

I just got an offer from Hollywood Video to be a Store Manager, needless to say, I'm freaking out a little right now, this is definitely gonna be a big challenge for me, but I think I'm up to it.

Just had a thought

Isn't it wierd how you'll come across someone else's blog, even if you don't know this person whatsoever, but you read their blog and everyday you go on and check to see what's new in their life, I just think it's funny. I have no problem with people I've never met reading my blog, why would I? Well, I'm sleep deprived and injured(you can read about my wrist below). So I think I may head to bed in a few, it's 3am here.

My interview today

Ok, so I'm suppose to be at my interview in nine hours, but I just can't seem to get excited about it, sure it pays great, but I'd hate the job, I really want the job with Sears that I'm interviewing for on Monday, oh well, wish me luck.

My wrist is not broken, it is however badly sprained, and yes, I am in a good amount of pain right now, thanks for asking. I have a ton of pics that I'll be posting on Monday, some of me, some of the family, and of course some of my truck.

Surprise Surprise

Ok, so I've been wanting to get a job at Sears working in their Auto Center for over two years, so I went on this morning and applied for a job on thier website, and apparently if you do well on the assesment test and everything you set up your interview day/time right there on the website, oh yeah, Monday at twelve o'clock, wish me luck.
