Ok, so it's been a long time since I last posted on this blog, life has however continued to move at a breakneck pace, I had surgery February 12th and am still recovering from that, went back to work at my job I had in January only to quit because the job sucked and I hated the hours, so today I started working as a telemarketer, and I can say with absolute certainty that today was my first and LAST day at this job. More to come later....

I've been dealing with a health ailment lately which has caused me to go from full-time to part-time and as of tomorrow, will have me cease working all together for a while, but whatever, the drive to and from work is killing me anyway, I barely have time now to get all my school work done, much less any social activities, so leaving this job to find one closer to home is a good idea in my opinion. It's been almost a year since I started this blog, and has time gone by fast or what, hahaha.

Anyway, I have some news, I started working at a new job on December 4th and am still there and like it so far, I start college on Monday, so I'm nervous about that, but I know I can do it if I try. Ok, so I spent most of my day yesterday in the emergency room, I had a fever of just over 103 degrees, my stomach hurt, my head hurt, and I have this gross looking reddish-bruised looking thing on my right leg, so suffice it to say that even though I'm feeling a little better today, I'm still not feeling great, they diagnosed it as a viral infection with cellulitis, but it could possibly be a bacterial infecting, but I'll have to wait a couple days for my blood tests to come back to find out for sure, anyway, I'm not really in the mood today to type alot, so I'll update again when I'm feeling better.

It's been a little while since I blogged about anything, so let me give you an update:

I'm back at Hess, well, I never really left, I was just forced to take some time off while a store was found for me to work at.

I'm still enrolled with Liberty, although my financial information didn't get back to them in time to start this fall, so I'll be starting classes in January.

I'm still working on losing weight, although I haven't made as much progress as I would have like to at this point, I guess any progress is good.

5:30pm: stop at Sheetz for a sandwich

Today was uhhh.................. fun? Ok, so my day started off crappy when my buddy called me and said he wasn't coming to Hershey today, so I said ok, well, there are still going to be quite a few people there from the ranger club today, so I'll still go, imagine my reaction when only six people showed up today, SIX!!!! Now, let me help you understand, if I had only been expecting eight or maybe even ten people to show up, just six showing up wouldn't have been a big deal, BUT, fifty-four people signed up to come today, and six actually came, ehhhhh, whatever, this was the last get together I am going to be able to go to in my Ford Ranger since I'm trading it in soon on............... well, I still have to decide what I'm buying next, so I'll keep ya'll informed.

Ok, I realize it's been a while since I made a post about what's going on with me, and basically, that's because I've been super busy lately, I know, I know, you're shocked. Anyway, I've been working 5 - 6 days a week, I've been working at a minimum of 2 - 3 different stores a week, one of which is a little over 150 miles round trip, so yeah, I haven't had much free time lately, good news is this though, I'm for sure becoming the assistant manager of one of these stores next week, with a decent raise coming my way, and quite possibly will be getting promoted to store manager in a few weeks, which will mean a pretty hefty raise, but, that also means it will be time to move, cause I'm not driving 150 miles a day, no matter what Hess pays me.

Books - When I find a book that can captivate me enough to read it from cover to cover, I love reading, but the majority of new books out there aren't worth my time, so when I'm not re-reading an old favorite I just read one of my 13 monthly magazines that I subscribe to.

Television - If I'm trying to pass some time I'll watch it, but I spend most of my free time online lately, not that I have alot of free time anymore, ahh well, that's an issue for another blog post. :)

Soooo, I haven't had much going on lately, other than working, and being sick. I talked to my district manager today and it looks like I'm going to be getting promoted to assistant manager in the next week or two, then we're going to start talking about me getting my own store in the next few months, so overall, I'm happy, especially considering that I'm going to have to put off going to UTI for quite a while due to my back and leg problems. So I'm going to make the best of what I have.

Yep, I have braces, I've had them on for quite a while now, but I'm, getting closer and closer to getting them off, hopefully before August, but I doubt it. the reason for this post is this, I had them "tightened" today, and my mouth hurts like crazy, they don't tell you about this crap before they put your braces on, and that's probably the reason why. I can't eat anything today and probably won't hardly be able to talk tomorrow because my mouth hurts and is sore, oh well, back to work tomorrow.

Ok, so I woke up this morning, and I feel like crap, I have a stomach ache, headache, and may possibly be running a fever, take all that and add it to the fact that I have to work tonight, and you've got me in a somewhat delirious and irritable state. I'd rather just stay in bed all day and wake up tomorrow refreshed and ready to go, but no, I must work tonight, even though I told my manager that Sundays were an iffy day for me, I guess he thinks I'll change my mind and start working more of them, ummm, NO, if he continues to schedule me on Sundays what he will have is a two-week notice on his desk, as well as a notice that I'll be out of town for those same two weeks, I've done it before and if I have to, I will do it again.

I've been really busy lately, working alot, still like my job, most days anyway, I went and looked at an apartment with a friend today, it was a really nice place, but we need at least two more people to move in with us to be able to make the rent, so that place may or may not work out, but that's ok, there is alot of apartments in the area we're looking in, so I'm not worried, nothing else exciting from today, more tomorrow.

What is today, but yesterday's tomorrow?!?!

I decided quite a while back that I was going to stop putting off my dreams in life and start working toward them now. I realize I have bills and obligations in life, but you can't continue to put off your life's ambitions or you're never going to be happy. That is why I'm working at Sears Auto Center making just above minimum wage instead of Hollywood Video making about $35,000 a year, that's also why I'm moving this summer to Reading, so I can be closer to school and not have to drive 160 miles round trip everyday, is this going to be a smart choice on my part, I guess that depends on how you look at things, yes, I'm going to be paying rent, but at the same time I'm going to be using alot less gas, probably just over a tank a week less, now don't think I'm going to be living alone in some lavious apartment, I'll be rooming with 2 or 3 other guys in a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment or townhouse to keep rent down to around $200 - $250 a month, so if you do the math, I'll actually be coming out about even or possibly ahead. That's my rant for today, not sure why I decided to post this now, I guess I'm just tired of people asking me why I would take a job at Sears over being a store manager for Hollywood Video, well, now you know.

So it appears next week I'll be getting full-time hours, even though technically I'll be part-time for the forseeable future, oh well, I love my job, been there a week and still get up every morning looking forward to going to work, although I am glad to have tomorrow off because I worked Monday - Saturday this week, I'll hopefully have more pictures and more frequent updateds starting next week.

Snow

Snow is beautiful, majestic, and at times, a huge pain in the butt, we're supposed to be getting between 5 - 10 inches today into tomorrow morning, normally this would be great news for me, but not this time, since I'm now back at work, trying to commute through that crap is horrible, oh well, nothing I can do besides drive slow and take it easy, work will be boring today and tomorrow, again, oh well, maybe I can get most of my computer training done.

Just worked my second day at Sears, had a good day. I'm finally doing work that will help me reach my career goals in life, and I couldn't be happier, so I'm only part time right now, eventually I'll be full time, and in the meantime I'm going to start working at Hess part time, which will be ok. I'm actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow, and I haven't been able to say that for a long time, well, I have some stuff to do tonight, more tomorrow.

Ok, my day started somewhat early, about 8am, I got up and got ready for church, now understand, normally I wouldn't need to be up until 9 or 9:30, but I was going to a new church today and it's a considerable difference in drive time, so I left about 9:10am to embark on my hour plus ride. Got to church at around 10:15am, the service was great, talked for a while afterword, and left about 12:20pm. My parents called and asked me if I wanted to meet for lunch and of course I said yes, well, just as I pulled into the parking lot, Sears called me and said I have orientation tomorrow at 12pm, so I was excited, as soon as my parents arrived we went into the diner, it was packed, so as soon as we arrived, we left for another restaurant, got home about 4pm, and have been working on getting the house ready for tomorrow ever since, we have an appraiser coming out at like 10am, oh what fun.

Nothing and Stress

Well, just as the title suggests, I did nothing today, except sleep and eat, as some of you know, I've been having employment issues for a long time now, and I think the stress is finally starting to effect my health, I'm not sleeping at night, I'm getting bad headaches, and now I'm having issues with my vision, I don't know if it's related or not, but it's still something else I now have to deal with. I realize it will get better in due time, but come on, enough is enough already. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. I'll hear if I have the job with Hess on Tuesday, although I already know "unofficially" that I do, so that should relieve some stress from my life when the paychecks start coming in.

Ok, so I've worked for Hess as an assistant manager 3 seperate times, it pays pretty good, but at the same time, the job sucks, so here's my question to anyone that reads this Blog.

Would you go back to work for a company that you know sucks, just because the pay is great?

The weather has been crappy here the past couple days, right now there's about 6 inches of snow on the ground with ice on top of that, ugh, when is spring coming. No update on the job front other than I'm going to start actively looking agian since I haven't heard from Sears since Friday of last week, I'm very irritated at this point, I turned down a great paying job to go to Sears and they haven't even called to setup orientation yet, ok, I'm done today, I need to look on some job websites and see what I can find.

Today I'm just gonna talk about a few websites I belong to,

First up is http://rangerpowersports.com/, I've been a member there for a year and a half, it's the largest Ranger enthusiasts website, as we are 50,000+ strong, it's a great resource if you own a ranger, explorer, bronco II or a mazda b-series.

Next up is http://talkpa.net/, this is a great site if you live in PA and want to meet, talk, and discuss just about anything with other people that live in this fine state, I've been a member there for a while and I find myself checking in at least a few times a day.

Just joined this site, http://talkdelaware.com/, same type of site as Talk PA, but for Delaware residents, and is owned and ran by the same guy.

Last up is http://fordaddicts.com/, I'm the owner of this site, and we're growing, albeit slowly, if you're a true Ford lover, then this site is for you.

I still feel like crap

Like the title says, I've been sick for 4 or 5 days now and I'm really not feeling much better, at least I'm not running a fever 24 hours a day now though, but I'm supposed to be going to Lansdale on Sunday for church and visiting a friend of mine, but that may not happen now, so far I've just been taking DayQuil and NyQuil, any suggestion as far as what else I could take to try and knock this cold/flu or whatever it is out?

Ok, for ya'll that know me, you know I need to lose some weight, and I've commited to losing at least 50 lbs by the end of 2008, but I'm shooting for 100 lbs, I'm cutting my daily calorie intake down to 1,500 and I'm planning on walking at least a mile three times a week, I'll keep you updated about once every two weeks with a blog post and let ya know how I'm doing.

Ya know, I've been sitting here for a while just thinking about and life, and here's a question I have for anyone that reads this, "why is everyone in such a hurry in life?", I mean, we get one life to live, why not take it a little slower and actually try to enjoy it from time to time. I realize that at times we need to rush to get certain things done, but that doesn't mean we need to maintain a break-neck pace through our entire lives.

Ok, so I've been wanting to get a job at Sears working in their Auto Center for over two years, so I went on this morning and applied for a job on thier website, and apparently if you do well on the assesment test and everything you set up your interview day/time right there on the website, oh yeah, Monday at twelve o'clock, wish me luck.
